本作は2016年にリリースされた、50年代から80年代までの間に行われた5ヵ国（モナコ、オーストラリア、エジプト、ドミニカ共和国、日本）でのライヴ音源を収録した5枚組（4CD＋DVD）セット『WORLD ON A STRING』。

1958年のモンテ・カルロのライヴでは、“カム・フライ・ウィズ・ミー”、“アイヴ・ガット・ユー・アンダー・マイ・スキン”、“レディ・イズ・ア・トランプ”等シナトラ定番曲がオン・パレード、1961年のオーストラリアのライヴでは“マイ・ファニー・ヴァレンタイン”“エンジェル・アイズ”等バラード・ソングで大人の魅力をアピール、1979年のエジプトでのライヴは“マイ・ウェイ”といったヒット・ナンバーが加わり、1982年ドミニカ共和国でのライヴはバックにバディ・リッチ・バンド、“夜のストレンジャー”、“テーマ・フロム・ニューヨーク・ニューヨーク”も取り上げるなど、楽曲の変遷とその時代の最高のパフォーマンスでシナトラの輝かしいキャリアを伝えています。DVDには貴重映像として、1962年（昭和38年）4月、東京・日比谷野外音楽堂でのコンサートの模様が収録され、超満員の聴衆を前に見事な歌唱を披露するシナトラの姿が見られます。

ビッグバンド、オーケストラ、コンボとどんな編成でも自身のヴォーカルで観客をエンジョイさせてゆく様は圧巻です。 あらためてフランク・シナトラのポピュラー音楽界への影響力の大きさを実感できるライヴ音源ボックスです。
