1997年10月にリリースされたモグワイのデビュー・アルバム『ヤング・チーム』の2022年リマスター盤。「モグワイ・フィア・サタン」等を収録した歴史的名盤。

1997年10月にリリースされたMogwaiの画期的なデビュー・アルバム『Young Team』がリマスターされ、カラー・ヴァイナル(スカイブルー)、CDでリイシューされる。リマスタリングは、Franz FerdinandやThe TwilightSadなどのプロダクションにも参加するアルバムのオリジナル・レコーディングのエンジニア、Paul Savageによりおこなわれた。The DelgadosのドラマーでもあるSavageは、アルバムのレーベル、Chemikal Undergroundのオーナーで、後にChemikal UndergroundのスタジオとなるChem19でアルバムはレコーディングされていた。

Mogwaiは1995年にグラスゴーで結成されたロック・バンドだ。1997年にデビュー・アルバム『YoungTeam』をリリースし、続く1999年のセカンド・アルバム『Come On Die Young』はUKトップ30ヒットを記録した。2011年の7枚目のアルバム『Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will』より、グラスゴーをベースとする自身のレーベル、Rock Action Recordsより自らの作品もリリース。2014年の『Rave Tapes』、2017年の『EveryCountry's Sun』を経て、2021年2月には目下の最新作となる10枚目のアルバム『As The Love Continues』をリリース。アルバムはUKチャートの1位、スコットランド・チャートの1位を獲得。マーキュリー・プライズにもノミネートされ、The SAY Award (スコティッシュ・アルバム・オブ・ザ・イヤー・アワード)も獲得した。

Young Team, Mogwai's first full-length album fulfills the promise of their early singles and EPs, offering a complex, intertwining set of crawling instrumentals, shimmering soundscapes, and shards of noise. Picking up where Ten Rapid left off, Mogwai use the sheer length of an album to their advantage, recording a series of songs that meld together -- it's easy to forget where one song begins and the other ends.
