Her Loss

近年共演が続いているDrakeと21 Savageの共同プロジェクトとして2022年に発表されたアルバム『Her Loss』のCDリリースが決定。Travis Scottが楽曲"Pussy & Millions"でゲスト参加している。

With joint album Her Loss, Drake and 21 Savage sound invigorated by each other, often slipping into appropriations of each others styles and keeping things loose and experimental throughout the project. After the labored quasi-house inflections of Honestly, Nevermind and the confused slog of Certified Loverboy, its nice to hear Drake sounding inspired and like hes having fun on some of these tracks. "Circo Loco" flips the beat of Daft Punks "One More Time" and Drake delivers lines that recall the casual charm and self-awareness of his late-2000s output. The dark and creeping "More Ms" finds 21 warming up the track with a forked-tongue verse before Drake comes through trying to match that intensity. Travis Scott offers the albums only credited feature with his verse on "Pussy & Millions," and several songs find either Drake or 21 Savage unaccompanied. The two closing tunes take this route and are among the strongest on Her Loss: 21 sounds like hes ready to take on the entire world over the pitched-down drums of "3AM on Glenwood," and Drake is solo and in his feelings once more on the struggle-minded and beatless "I Guess Its Fuck Me." Her Loss is scattered, flowing more like a mixtape than a well-designed album, but there are plenty of highlights to balance out the less fully formed inclusions. ~ TiVo Staff
