初期の名曲をフィーチャーした1980年のデビュー・ツアーからマンチェスター・アポロ公演。MSGの絶頂期に捉えた1981年の伝説的日本武道館公演。スコーピオンズのルドルフ・シェンカーとクラウス・マイネをスペシャルゲストに迎えた1983年ロンドンのハマースミス・オデオン公演。MSGのメロディック・メタルの真髄を余すところなく披露した1984年西武スタジアムでのフェスティバル・セットの全4公演を5枚のCDに収録。DVDには、1983年のハマースミス・オデオンと1984年の西武スタジアムでのコンサートの映像を完全収録。

著名なロックジャーナリスト、マーティン・ポポフによる詳細なライナーノーツと、マイケル・シェンカー本人の最新インタビュー/未公開写真も掲載したブックレットが付属。

コメントは、CD4: Hammersmith Odeon, London, 22nd-23rd October 1983についてです。
従来の"Rock Will Never Die"とはかなり音像が異なります。各楽器の分離／定位が明瞭になり、この結果、Derek St. Holmesのギター音が聞き取りやすくなっている印象。
それ以上に驚かされたのが、内容そのものの違いです。
「完全版」とうたわれている通り、アンコール1曲目であろう"Still Love That Little Devil"（Track 15）が追加されているのは喜ばしい限りですが、"Rock My Nights Away"（Track 2）のアウトロのギターソロが全く別物であったり、Michaelのギターを中心に他にも細かい差が見られます。割愛されていたDerek St. Holmesの紹介も収録されています。
今回のものが生の録音に近いとして、差し替えが収録日違いなのか、スタジオでの録音なのか、特にクレジット等もありませんので、正確な事や詳細は分かりませんが興味深い内容となっています。
