現代最高のピアニストのひとりピエール＝ロラン・エマールがジェルジ・クルターグのピアノのための「遊び Jàtékok」の録音を作曲家立ち会いの下、実現しました。

1973年より作曲をはじめ、現在も作曲継続中のピアノ小品集「遊び」。2021年現在 BookⅩ. （第10巻）が発刊されており、うち Book Ⅳ.は2 台ピアノまたは4 手連弾作品集です。子どもがピアノに触れたはじめた時から鍵盤上を自由に走り回れたらという思いから書き始め、その言葉どおり譜面自体は単純なものが多いですが、クルターグは冒険的で前衛的な作曲手法を用いるだけでなく、手のひらや肘などを用いた特殊奏法も取り入れ、ピアノを学ぶ子供の自発性、創造性を刺激する内容となっております。現在は Book XI（. 第11巻）の作曲を進行中。クルターグ自身の手紙や日記のような短い曲がつまったおもちゃ箱のような作品集。当録音では第11 巻の中から世界初録音となる10 曲（草稿）も収録。クルターグ立会いの下、理想的な録音環境で実現した注目すべきリリースです。ブックレットには録音時の写真を数多くカラー掲載しております。

コロナ禍、バッハの平均律とクルターグの「遊び」、またシューベルトの小品（舞曲）とクルターグの「遊び」を物語のようにつなげたプログラムを考えたエマールは、2023 年の来日時に若者たちに向けた特別演奏会として、東京藝術大学の奏楽堂にて同プログラムを演奏。クルターグの音楽に魅了され、自身のメイン・レパートリーとするエマールがいま聴衆に届けたい音楽を全身全霊で演奏しております。現在進行形のピアノ小品集の今後にも注目です。

「クルターグの音楽はほぼ半世紀にわたって私の音楽人生の一部となっており、私の息吹であり信条のひとつでもあります。私がクルターグを知ったのは1978 年の冬。その後、彼のブダペストの自宅にお邪魔するも最初は彼も私も沈黙が続いてしまい... その空気をかえるため彼は私をピアノの前に誘いました。その時ピアノのための「遊び」の楽譜があり、彼と一緒に4 手連弾しました。以来私はクルターグの作品に虜となりました。生涯を通じてこの膨大な小品を弾き続けていきます」（ピエール＝ロラン・エマール）
