壮大で耽美なメロディで極上のサイケデリアを描くロック・バンド、マーキュリー・レヴ。彼らの17年間にわたる活動をパッケージングしたベスト・アルバム『The Essential Mercury Rev: the Weird Years 1991-2006』がリリースされる。2枚組となる本作は、ディスク1にこれまでのアルバムから選りすぐった楽曲を、ディスク2はシングルのBサイド・未発表曲などを含むレア曲のみを収録。ライト・リスナーからコア・リスナーまでをもフォローした構成。日本先行で、9月後半～10月頭にリリースが予定されている。
