THE MONKEES（モンキーズ）のMichael Nesmith（マイケル・ネスミス）が逝去。享年78歳

THE MONKEESのギタリスト／ヴォーカリスト、Michael Nesmithが亡くなったことが明らかになった。享年78歳。

Michael Nesmithは1942年12月、テキサス州ヒューストン生まれ。THE BEATLES主演映画『A Hard Day's Night』の米国版製作のために選出された4人組バンド THE MONKEESのメンバーとしてデビューし、“Last Train To Clarksville”、“I'm A Believer”、“Daydream Believer”など全米1位ヒットを量産した。

今回の訃報を受け、SNSでは追悼のコメントが寄せられている。

I’ve lost a dear friend and partner.
I’m so grateful that we could spend the last couple of months together doing what we loved best – singing, laughing, and doing shtick.
I’ll miss it all so much. Especially the shtick.
